Talaria XXX Editions Guide: Pro vs Black vs Red, Decoded

Three XXX editions, three price points within $100, one platform. What actually differs between the XXX Pro, Black and Red editions — and how to pick without overthinking it.

The XXX editions confuse more buyers than any corner of the range: three special-edition bikes — XXX Pro 2025, XXX Black and XXX Red — clustered within about $100 of each other (~$2,100–$2,200) on the same TL2500 platform as the X3. Here is the decoder.

The shared platform

All three run identical performance hardware: 6 kW peak IPM mid-drive, 47 mph, and the 60V / 40Ah max (38.4Ah nominal) pack of 128 LG M50 21700 cells — 2.4 kWh, removable. Seat height 805–810 mm across the set. Nobody outruns anybody; the differences are trim, finish and weight.

Edition by edition

XXX Pro 2025 — the light one

At 117 lb (53 kg) with battery, the Pro is the lightest bike in the entire Talaria range — four to eight pounds under its siblings, which technical riders and smaller riders genuinely feel. If a tiebreaker is needed, this is it.

XXX Black Edition — the murdered-out one

Full blackout treatment at 125 lb. The aesthetic pick for riders who de-badge everything anyway — and typically the edition our stock sells through first.

XXX Red Edition — the loud one

Same 125 lb hardware wearing the red treatment, and usually the sharpest price of the three — check the live ranking, where it currently opens the XXX set.

XXX vs standard X3

The standard X3 undercuts all three by $100–$200 with the same platform — the editions buy finish and (Pro) weight, not speed. Our X3 review covers the platform’s virtues and limits; every word applies to the editions.

How to actually choose

Price-first: standard X3. Weight-first: Pro. Looks-first: Black or Red by taste — and since editions rotate stock faster than core models, the honest advice is to buy the one available in your size window rather than waiting a season for a paint job. All current availability is on the models page.
