Sting R built around a 2-speed primary gearbox and a 125 A circuit breaker, with an 8,000 W peak IPM motor, 60V / 45 Ah LG 21700 pack and a 55 mph (88 km/h) top speed.
Two things set this trim apart from the rest of the Sting R line. The first is the transmission: a 2-speed gearbox on the primary side feeding a secondary chain, which widens the usable speed range at both ends rather than forcing one compromise ratio. The second is a 125 A circuit breaker, a passive device that opens on overcurrent to protect the electrical system from peak current spikes.
The high-efficiency DC IPM motor is rated 4,000 W continuous and 8,000 W peak, making 45 N·m at the shaft under an advanced FOC controller, for a 55 mph (88 km/h) top speed. The premium LG 21700 pack is 60V / 45 Ah and 2.7 kWh, charging from empty in about 3 hours.
The forged 6061-T6 aluminum frame measures 1,880 x 770 x 1,088 mm (L x W x H) with a 840 mm (33.1 in) seat height and a 66 kg (145 lb) curb weight. Maximum load is 120 kg (265 lb). Up front is an adjustable RST Killah or Talaria Factory fork; the rear is an adjustable mono-shock. Brakes are 4-piston hydraulic on 220 mm rotors with a rear disc guard.
Wheels are 19-inch spoked aluminum on knobby 70/100-19 and 90/100-19 off-road tires, with a compact TFT dash and an LED headlight. Available in Black/Blue or Dark Green.
