The Sting R MX4 sits between the MX3 and the higher-voltage bikes, and its numbers are the ones most riders end up comparing against. The high-efficiency DC IPM motor is rated 4,000 W continuous, 8,000 W peak, and 45 N·m at the shaft, managed by a field-oriented-control unit with four levels of adjustable regen. Top speed is 53 mph (85 km/h).
Range is the standout figure: the 60V / 45Ah LG 21700 pack stores 2.7 kWh and will cover up to 75 mi (120 km) held at 16 mph. A full charge takes roughly 3 hours.
The frame is forged 6061-T6 aluminum alloy, curb weight is 66 kg (145 lb) and maximum load is 100 kg (220 lb). Seat height is 840 mm (33.1 in) on a 1,250 mm (49.2 in) wheelbase with 300 mm (11.8 in) of ground clearance. Suspension is adjustable at both ends — FastAce or Talaria factory fork up front, FastAce, HT or Talaria factory shock at the rear. Up to 75 miles on a steady cruise from the 45Ah LG 21700 pack — the longest range in the entire Talaria line-up. Hard riding, cold weather and a heavier rider will all reduce that figure.
What is the difference between the MX3 and the Sting R MX4?
Same 60V platform, more of everything: 8 kW instead of 6 kW, 53 mph instead of 47, and a 45Ah pack instead of 38.4Ah. The MX4 is the one to buy if range is what limits your rides.
How long does it take to charge?
Roughly 2.5–3 hours on the 12A fast charger. The pack is removable for indoor charging.
