Talaria fits a permanent-magnet synchronous motor to the MX3 trim, air-cooled and rated at 6 kW peak from 3 kW nominal on the 60 V system. This is that motor, sold as a replacement for a unit lost to failure, water ingress or a thermal event.
PMSM and IPM are both permanent-magnet synchronous designs; the difference is magnet placement. PMSM mounts its magnets on the rotor surface, which is simpler to build, while the interior-magnet IPM layout used on the MX4 and MX5 Pro tolerates higher sustained current. The two are not interchangeable, so an MX4 needs its own IPM-spec motor rather than this one.
Fitting is an advanced job at two to three hours, using a torque wrench, hex keys, a motor puller and a connector kit. Disconnect the battery first, match the phase wires by colour, and confirm the motor spins correctly on the stand before the chain goes back on. Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty.
