Rear Shock Absorber (FastAce) for TL45, Sting, Sting R

This is the FastAce rear shock originally fitted to four Sting trims, supplied as a straight replacement when the original weeps oil past the seals, goes soft and bouncy, or takes visible damage from a hard landing. It is an oil-damped single-piece unit with factory damping settings and factory mount geometry — a bolt-on, not a conversion.

Do not put off a failing shock. Once damping is gone the chassis pitches through its travel unchecked, handling deteriorates and the mounting points start taking loads they were never meant to carry. Reference OE number is 155300079.

The shock ships on its own; mounting hardware is reused unless it is damaged. Fitment is confirmed on Sting 4000, Sting Offroad, Sting Onroad and Sting R Road Legal, and it does not suit the MX5 Pro's adjustable linkage shock or the Komodo and Dragon chassis. If you want adjustable preload, compression and rebound, this is not that shock — look at the higher-tier aftermarket options instead.

Fitting is moderate at 30-45 minutes with a torque wrench and hex key set. Get the bike on a stand with the rear wheel unweighted before removing anything, torque the mounting bolts to service-manual spec, and re-check them after the first ride.
