The interior-magnet layout handles sustained high-current loads more comfortably and runs more efficiently than older BLDC designs.
This is the correct part for the Sting R MX4 (TL4000) and the MX Expert Edition after a motor failure, a water-ingress event or thermal damage. The Sting Offroad motor is not a substitute; the power rating and winding spec differ.
Replacement is an advanced job and worth handing to a shop. Allow two to three hours with a torque wrench, hex keys, a motor puller and a connector kit. Battery disconnected first, and bench-test the motor on the stand before the drive chain goes back on.
