Full-E Charged Rear Black Fastace Shock Absorber Spring 550 Lbs

Spring rate is the base setting everything else in the rear suspension works from. The FastAce shock fitted to early Sting trims ships with a rate chosen for a mid-weight rider; heavier riders sit too deep in the stroke and run out of travel on hard hits. This 550 lb spring is stiffer than stock and brings sag and rebound behaviour back into range for riders around 90 kg and above, or for anyone riding hard enough to bottom the stock rate.

Fitment is FastAce-specific. It is a direct swap on the Sting Offroad (TL3000) and Sting Onroad (TL45) where a FastAce shock is fitted. On the Sting 4000 (TL4000), verify the shock specification with your installer first. It does not fit non-FastAce shocks, nor the MX5 Pro, Komodo or Dragon, which use different shock designs.

Installation is a moderate job and takes 45-60 minutes. The shock has to come off the bike — the spring is captive and cannot be changed in place. You will need a spring compressor, a shock spanner wrench and a torque wrench. Treat a loaded shock spring with respect: it stores a lot of energy, so use a proper compressor and follow the shock manufacturer's procedure. Once fitted, set rider sag to 25-30%, typically 30-40 mm, then work the damping clickers from there.
