OEM handlebar-mounted front brake master cylinder for the Talaria Sting Onroad (TL45), plumbed to the 4-piston front caliper. Integrated reservoir; DOT 3 or DOT 4 fluid.
The front master cylinder for the TL45, with an integrated reservoir and a hydraulic line running to the four-piston front caliper. Bore sizing is matched to that caliper's fluid volume, which is what gives the lever its intended firmness.
Two things degrade over time: the internal seals and the fluid itself, particularly DOT 4 in humid conditions, since glycol-based fluid absorbs water. A lever that still feels spongy after a proper bleed has told you which of the two is at fault. That is the point at which the cylinder gets replaced rather than serviced.
Use DOT 3 or DOT 4 and bleed the front circuit fully once it has been opened. Keep DOT 5 out of the system entirely — it is silicone-based and incompatible with these seals.
