One sealed unit handles both functions on the TL45: the taillight element and the brake light element share a single housing that mounts to the standard rear bracket. It is a direct factory replacement when the module has taken a hit or the LEDs have stopped responding.
Rear lights lead a hard life on an off-road chassis — gravel, branches and tip-overs all land in the same place — so this is a sensible spare to keep on the shelf if the bike gets ridden regularly.
Fitting is about ten minutes with a screwdriver. Disconnect the battery, plug the loom in, mount the assembly, then check both circuits: the taillight should be live with the key on, and the brake element should come up on the lever. If the taillight works and the brake light does not, look at the brake switch before suspecting the assembly.
